Very mundane week!

Image
This week hasn't been the most interesting, I have had tones of revising and no me time which if I am going to be honest I am in desperate need of TLC!  sleepless nights are more frequent than ever, didn't realize that student life is this difficult although enjoying the course and my placement in the nursery! But on a more positive note my denim pillow cover is growing and getting bigger Really excited to see the finishing results! Also doing a bit of colouring which is very calming  and theraputic!  Well that's in bed and watching Gilmore Girls xxx

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Image
Had such a lovely day Monday! Organised my bedroom so I can study a bit better, and not have everything so messy! While listening to music at full volume! Suprised my parents didn't tell me to shut up, they must be used to it by now! Tables a bit messy as I have moved all my crafts into my bedroom. I then popped over to have a catch up with a friend and do a few crafty things! Managed to Finnish my crocheted blanket which originally was meant to be a size of a double blanket (bit too ambitious) but downsized it to a lap blanket. I then cut up denim squares from old jeans to make a cushion cover to revamp my old cushion and started patchworking by hand (so slow) wished I had a sewing machine always comes in handy! It's amazing how many squares you can get with two pairs of jeans! If it wasn't for my friend not sure how I would of finished my blanket and find a use for old jeans! It's amazing how much things you can make and excited to show you the fin

A 17 year old Christian!!!!

Image
I have always gone to church and was brought up to believe in Jesus and to trust him! People have turned to me and said your only a Christian because you were made to go to church, but it wasn't I was so glad that even though my Dad doesn't believe, he was always accepting that I went to church and brought up with the word of God. I could of left but I chose not too, and that was my choice not my Mums. He has given me a purpose in life! why would we be hear if not? whats the point if there was no creator on this earth? how could we be created out of nothing? Its like baking a cake, you need a creator to make the cake or there wouldn't be anything, so you see it is impossible for something so amazing and complex like this earth for something to come out of nothing, there has to be a creator out there ( well that's what I believe). I was bullied at the start of high school for my faith and it was difficult because I looked like I was strange, but since I have gotten olde

Busy day in the Kitchen

Image
I rarely go in the kitchen unless its to get a drink or get a snack. You would never catch me red handed cooking or baking. But today I decided that it was time to put my apron on and get cooking. I had promised Dad a chocolate cake the night before and totally forgot about it until he came in my room and asked me where the chocolate cake was, so not the type of person to break promises I headed down stairs to start baking. The recipe I used for the hazelnut chocolate cake was from Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstalls book River Cottage Everyday. I change some of the ingredients slightly, instead of using dark chocolate chunks, as I am not a fan and find it bitter in cakes, I used hot chocolate powder instead which actually tasted amazing if I say so myself, and feeling extra adventurous I added cinnamon for extra flavouring. It doesn't take long to make I think roughly 35 to prepare as all of the whisking and I am generally slow and takes 20 mins to cook in the oven, I found that that am

Visit from my best friend

Image
So last week my best friend came over to stay for a week which was lovely because we live quite far from each other and don't get many holidays the same but we managed to find the time. I did a surprise visit on the week of her birthday in July, trying to lie to your Bestie for the best part of 3 weeks was the most difficult thing ever, have you ever managed to keep a secret from your Bestie? I am telling you, every conversation you have there is this urge to tell them and its so hard. So she asked me if i was planning to come over, so i had to tell her i am so sorry but i am going away for a weekend and wont be able to make it, i made up this whole story up. When i arrived at the house, i was about to step up and open the door and she opened it ha ha it was so funny to see her reaction, i should of videoed it but didn't have time to. I thought she was gonna punch me but got a hug instead. Anyway i had such a lovely time even though i wasn't feeling too good. We went to

A whole different world in the land of fiction

Reading is so therapeutic you open the book your reading and enter into a whole different world of fiction and read about peoples lives and wonder how different life would of been if you were living in that fiction book, there is so much imagination that's there and it takes you away from the real world the real struggles that goes on and sends you into this place where you can feel safe and where all those struggles you were struggling with was just mere imagination that they weren't really there in the first place, being drawn in and feeling like you are there watching it all happen right in front of you. Its fascinating how a writer can draw you into their books and make you feel part of it, i have always wondered, its probably part of being a good writer. Its so nice to sit and read, you don't know how long you have spent reading until you look at the watch and be like o my i have read for hours and hours and haven't realised it, but it draws you in that you cant

Beautiful day out in the gorgeous sun

Image
What gorgeous weather we have had all week! We are extremely lucky to have good weather like this!  It was a really nice day, I went over to a friends house to do a bible study and a time of prayer, a group of us go over and it was such a lovely time of worship and just spending time toghether!! I came home around about 1:45 pm had a quick drink of water and then me and my dad set off to the shops to put fuel in the car, have an ice cream and have a driving lesson, it was a good day for it and a great area to start driving which is so close to where I live!  Now I am sitting outside in this fabby weather reading my book which is called earthly joys by Phillipa Gregory and maybe do abit of crochet which i have just started to learn. I am a big fan of her writing! my friend lent it to me she too likes her writing, which is nice to share same interests!  Well thats me saying goodbye and i hope you too are enjoying the sun as much as I am!! Love Hannah xxx

Great day outdoors in the garden

Image
It was such a sunny day today! I managed to get outside and make a frame for my sweat peas to climb up which didn't take long but dad taught me how to build one. I have sewed a few flower seeds, don't ask me to name them all! I have recently been reading a book that a friend of mine gave me calmed earthly joys by Phillipa  Gregory which is about this gardener who works for his master the duke and I felt so inspired to go out into the garden and plant my own flowers. My dad built me a tree house ages ago from when I was a child and I have redecorated, and painted the inside an outside. And have now moved all my craft boxes into it and have stolen a table from my dad tehe! And now I think I am going to get into my superman onsie (yep that's right my name is Hannah and I am a marvel mad fan) and binge watch on the last 4 episodes of the orginals Xxxx

lovely Day

Image
Today I felt very relaxed, it has been one of those days where it has been slow moving! I tidied my room for friends coming over to stay because it's the February break (lucky them). That took me a few hours at least but mind looking at boxes worth of stuff that I haven't seen in awhile can take pretty much most of your time. I love my room! and my heels that you can see in the corner of the room on the shelf, that may be my obsession at the moment lol! my friends think I am mad (I don't blame them). Our friend made the wardrobe and a table with shelf's on top beautifully done.  After tidying my room I watched a few episodes of vampire diaries totally in love with it right now but on the last episode of season 6 (gutted). So next on my list will be the originals, I do love romance always loved it tehe!!  And for the rest of the afternoon I had a lovely time  over at T's crafting flowers from old books which look really sweet and will have to craft some

Drive to college

Image
The journey to college a few days ago was amazing! I hardly had any sleep from this annoying cold that is going around and I wouldn't think anything that day would make me happy I just wanted to be in bed, but as we were driving we came over a hill and straight ahead of us was this beautiful sunset the colours were amazing. It was most precious view I had ever seen.  Not the best pic but I don't think you can really capture something so stunning on a camera or a phone. I hope I can see another view like the one I saw. I am so lucky to live were I am just now, I sometimes don't take notice of the beauty and take advantage of the place, but then I look closer and I am so grateful  to live in such a place. Remember next time you are out and about either in the countryside or the city look closely and you may find the beauty that lies within xxx

An eventful weekend!

Image
This weekend has been a very eventful weekend, more than any other weekend I have had. I went for a walk with dad and two of our friends round the Migdale woods. The weather was decent but a bit cold there was no rain or wind though which was good. The views were something to die for, they were like something from a fairytale. Not the best pictures because I was silly enough to forget my camera so I had to resort to my phone but here is what the views looked like. It's nice to get some fresh air after being stuck in doors studying. I also did my workout which was tiring but worth doing.  Today I went to church, it was such a lovely service and to top that off we had a soup and sandwich lunch which was gorgeous but absolutely stuffed can hardly move tehe. The weather wasn't to cold today so I decide to walk the two miles back to my place afterwards. Now I am writing up my blog and then heading off to do my hour dance workout.  I have to say nature is the best medici

Fitness Resolution 2016

Image
lets take a breather has anyone started or even thought about a new years resolution. or have you all given up? STOP, THINK,READ and TAKE NOTE. Resolutions don't have to be huge they can be simple like this year for example could be saving up or beginning to cook really healthily, it doesn't need to be I am going to get a beach bod or a six pack for summer. Doing things that are manageable and easy to accomplish. I  have made a new years resolution and have not managed to succeed because it was just to big a challenge. something easy could be I am only going to have a square of chocolate a day or a bar of chocolate once a week and this may stop your crave for sweet things all the time. I have always said to myself that every day I would do a workout and that was going to be my new years resolution last year which happen for about a few days and I kinda got a bit bored. I also felt sick after the workouts which never happened when I was in high school. well any way this year I

Back to College

well the Christmas festivities have ended and reality has kicked in! Tomorrow's my first day back to college and I am set to go. I have got all my folders in my bag my planner ready and I am set to wake up at 6:30 (I am not really). I find that impacting the week with exciting things to do or go helps that 6:30 wake up or even that dread to go to work feel: so here is a few things to help with the week ahead: First of all and the most important thing you should do the night before you go back to work college or school is going to bed early (I know you already know, not the done thing to do but helps) you find it easier to wake in the morning and generally you feel refreshed. you do find that a good night sleep always helps you during the day, you concentrate more and you might not be as grumpy as you where that night when you didn't go to bed until like two in the morning. Secondly always have a good meal at breakfast time whether cereal, toast, porridge or even a piece

A lovely walk round Ravens Rock

Image
A few days ago a few friends of my parents came over for a few nights to celebrate the new year with us. We went for a lovely walk through the woods. Ravens Rock had been closed since the horrible weather we had last year which left it in a devastating ruin. It had just been re-opened with only a walk up to the bear and back which wasn't long, but feeling adventurous we decided to see how far we could go. we managed to get round part of the walk but some of it was dangerous. the view points where the only part of the walk that had not been affected. The Bear in ravens rock (found image on google)   Here is a couple of pics that shows the damage      This was a family walk, we used to pick blaeberry's (wild blueberry's)  to make jam and ice cream which happened every year in April and was the most exciting time of year. I get excited about the littlest things. I do love simple things. looking forward to the new buds and blooms this year  xx

Happy New Year!!!!

I cant believe that the end of 2015 has come to an end and a new chapter in our lives has arrived as we step foot into 2016! 2015 has been a strange year it started of as a positive part of my life where I started to enjoy high school and realised that learning was important and if I wanted to get on in life I should work harder  (unbelievable right). well in any case that did not last long at all and as soon as possible I began to drag my way through the term as my friends and family well know. I stayed off a lot . I skived most of it there was times when I was ill  and I am not proud of it I mean I only just managed to get a National 4. It soon came to the end of S4 and I was going up to college once a week on a Friday studying early education and childcare. It was the last day and at the end of the lesson I asked my lecturer do you think its possible if I could leave with only 6 N4's and surprisingly she said yes, I was given a booklet with different courses and an applicatio
